Fall Favorites

Often when I tell people what I do for a living I get this question a lot...
"I bet your house is filled with flowers, huh!?"
Answer:
Its a very rare occasion when I have flowers that adorn my home.

All of my creativity and time are exerted on my clients are their events. So its a extra special day when i can actually put together something for myself. These next few pieces were something i put together to just for me!

My version of a cascade bouquet. Callas, tulips, amaranthus, roses and trachelium. I wanted to challenge myself to try something that I wouldn't normally compose.

Classic rose bouquet.

I've been doing my darnedest to be a better blogger.
So far I would give myself a B+. Thoughts?

I love getting comments so if you see something you like, feel free to leave me a comment.

A Grand Event at the Grand America

Jenny's wedding was one of the highlights of my floral career. Jenny gave me the creative freedom to create anything my heart desired. A designers DREAM! She wanted warms tones and something modern. This is my translation:

The bouquet! The gloriously beautiful bouquet! My fav of all time. Orange mokara orchids, eggplant callas, white patience roses, purple lisianthus, ledonia roses, monkey tail and mango callas.
Most of my bouquet wraps have the stems peaking through the bottom. Pretty standard. With Jenny i wanted to bring a whole new warmth and uniqueness to her bouquet wrap. We wrapped the whole stem in an eggplant satin ribbon and adorned it with our signature ruffled detail.

These urns were huge. Each of these babies took over 100 stems. Jenny's only request was that these be over the top. Mission accomplished?!

The main focal point was a collection of five varying vases. We wanted to stick with the modern theme but also felt it necessary to keep with the feel of the event location.

To bring in the modern feel we used large vases adorned with 3 callas draped over top with gold bullion wire and a splash of orange with a single mokara orchid bloom. Sleek and chic!

Grooms Boutonniere. Also my fav. Lily grass in a unique swirl pattern and gold pearl head pin inserted into the moth of a orchid bloom. Topped off with gold bullion wire to tie it all together.

Flowers used for the event:
Cymbidium orchids, Mokara orchids, dahlias, 2 rose varieties, curly willow, trachelium, lilly grass, mini callas, jumbo hydrangea, larkspur, ti leaves, football mums, fern curls and tulips
